Vyasa-puja Offering  9 November 2001

Jaya Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar dev Goswami! All glories, all glories to you on your glorious Vyasa-puja Day.
Srila Gurudev, on this day I come before you and offer my prostrated obeisances at your sweet and holy lotus
feet repeatedly. Your glories are unlimited because in this world you are the living embodiment  of the Lord Himself, and also pure devotional service to the Lord, simultaneously and inconceivably. You are at once the incarnation of Sri Nityananda-Balaram Who introduces us to devotional service and in the plane of innermost vision the perfect serving potency of the Lord, the supreme goddess Srimati Radhika Herself. It is only by your grace that our service attempt may be successful. If you are pleased with us then the Lord is pleased and if not then we are shelterless.But your glories do not stop there. Once you told the story of how one devotee -your godbrother- due to some misbehaviour was apparently rejected by your own Gurudev Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupada. At that time you were in charge of the Math from where that person had been asked to leave and so when he came to you repeatedly asking to be allowed to return you told him to wait until Gurudev Srila Saraswati Thakur came again to that Math and to talk with him. When Srila Saraswati Thakur arrived there that errant devotee met him and still he was not accepted back for service. But Srila Prabhupada told you and your other godbrothers "I cannot accept him, but you can take him in..." You were surprised: "What is this? Srila Prabhupada is our Lord and Master, whatever is his thinking we try to always follow that, what he says is our life. But he is saying "You can...?!" But you realised that such is the infinite extension of mercy from Nityananda Prabhu, Lord of the department of mercy. We pray that such mercy may be extended to us who feel incapable of serving you properly. You have many disciples who are understanding your mood and carrying your conception; topmost is your beloved present Acaryade! v Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda dev Goswami Maharaj. You are living in him and by extension those who are surrendered to his lotus feet. They are also our shelter by siksa. In this way by your kindness you have not left us though you are no longer manifest in this mortal world and you are giving us the chance for service here.
On this most auspicious day we pray that the fortunate souls of this world will come to see what you have made manifest in this plane and enter deeply into that divine current, become intoxicated with that nectar,and spread it to others.

All glories to His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj who is the incarnation of Divine mercy for this age of Kali and who is the well-wisher and Spiritual Master for all the sincere souls of this world.
This day is very special because 104 years ago you descended from the spiritual world to give Krishna Consciousness to the conditioned souls who have no hope but think they are very learned and puffed up with a high position in society. When one simply sees your Divine form and hears about you from a real Vaisnava, he can understand he is nothing and has been born in the garbage pit of sinful activities. You exhibit all the noble qualities that are desired by any sincere soul. Even the village where you were born has the noble qualities of a liberated soul: it is in the mist of material opulence but at the same time isn't affected by them. It remains a simple Indian village.
The Scriptures say unless one is empowered by the Lord, he can't preach Krishna Consciousness in this age of Kali.

Kali-Kalera dharma-Krishna-nama-sankirttan,
Krishna-sakti vina nahe tara pravartana
C.c Antya 7, 11

It is obvious you have been empowered to preach Krishna Consciousness because the whole world came to hear Krishna Consciousness from you. Devotees and sincere seekers came from every country of the world to sit quietly at your feet and hear your nectarean words of the glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. When you began to speak everyone listened with rapt attention as your classes covered every aspect of life, both material and spiritual. When you began to speak you would talk for hours and hours about anything and everything. You appeared to be at home as your talks enlightened everyone who came to hear from you.

Today we are very fortunate that His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Maharaj is carrying on your mission by travelling all over the world spreading your divine glories. You live through him and through him your glories are increasing and increasing in exponential proportions. Before the whole world came to you, and now by your mood of separation, you are going to the whole world. This day is very auspicious and I offer my worthless and offensive obeisances to your grace and beg you can purify me and engage me in your divine service.

I pray to eternally offer my surrendered obeisance unto your most Holy Lotus Feet, which are the grand shelter for the blessed souls.
You are the gracious bestower of Sri Guru, ensuring and benedicting us with all Divine fortune in the service of His Lotus Feet.
I cannot see you but I pray for your causeless glance of mercy. By your merciful glance I may then satisfy your most beloved one, my Master, who can bring me to you, Sri Sri Guru-Gauranga-Radha-Krsna in Vrindavan in eternal service.

Please hear my prayer on this most glorious of days.

The Most Auspicious Transcendental Appearance Day of
Om Vishnupad Sri
Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj

With the expression "Ananta Sri Vibhushita" Srila Govinda Maharaj kindly gave us the higher conception about the Glories of Srila Guru Maharaj. Not that he possessed a hundred and eight glorious and beautiful qualities, as is customarily said of one's Guru, but his beautiful and glorious position is beyond that and absolutely unlimited. Similarly, Srila Govinda Maharaj was astute to mention Srila Guru Maharaj with the title "Dev-Goswami," to distinguish him, again, with absolute supremacy. But that supremacy is, like Lord Krishna in Vrindavan, the supremacy of his sweetness. Humanlike.

A simple sadhu personality, yet a super-personality and Teacher, unmistakably a direct Associate of the Supreme Lord. The devotional heart does not betray any ego. When Guru Maharaj would say, "Mahaprabhu Gaurangasundar," we felt Mahaprabhu was personally standing there before him; and us. We must at least take the liberty to assert that we are not simple sentimentalists. We have hearts. Sometimes we think "small wonder Srila Swami Maharaj considered him his Siksha-Guru." Shouldn't it be obvious?

He's the Guru of the universe. The Guru of Gurus. The Guru of the heart. That's why he was approachable. Krishna is also like that, Himself. But he means death to the demons.

Srila Govinda Maharaj has never referred to Guru Maharaj as "nitya-lila-pravista." What a beautiful, intimate instruction. Everything about Guru Maharaj was his eternal pastimes, past, present and future. Where is the question of him now "entering" eternal pastimes? Where is the question of him ever being separate from his most beloved?

So, as Srila Govinda Maharaj mentioned the other day, "the sun never sets on Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math." How did we know beforehand, that Srila Govinda Maharaj would give Krishna consciousness to the world in a way that could only be seen as the non-different Glory and Work of Srila Swami Maharaj? Simply because Srila Guru Maharaj wanted it. When we mentioned the thought, he smiled. That was sufficient. After all, he was the intimate inspiration of the transcendental miracle-maker Srila Swami Maharaj, whether people know it or not. He was the maker of miracle-makers.

Although this was meant to be written in his glorification, I have repeatedly mentioned Srila Govinda Maharaj and Srila Swami Maharaj; because we are forbidden to separate the Lord's Names, qualities, forms and pastimes -- and associates. To do so is an offense.

All glories, all glories, all glories on this most Holy of Holy Days to Srila Guru Maharaj, Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. May he be gracious upon us.
